Tour to Turkey - 15-Day Tour: October 2010 Taking in the unique atmosphere of Istanbul, Ankara and a number of other historical destinations across Turkey, there is ample time for exploring the many culturally and spiritually significant sites to be found in this beautiful country. There is also the option of extending your tour and joining us on a cruise through the Greek islands. Our itinerary follows:
Day 1 - Arrive in Istanbul - Ataturk Int. Airport. Istanbul night excursion, enroute to hotel.
Day 2 - Istanbul, Bosphorus cruise by chartered boat, Sadberk Hanim Museum, Topkapi Palace, & Grand Bazaar for shopping.
Day 3 - Beylerbeyi Palace, Ankara, Mausoleum of Ataturk.
Day 4 - Ayos Vasilios, Ayos Konstantinos, and Valley of Onions churches, & Derinkuyu Underground City. Rose-Valley to watch the sun set.
Day 5 - Goreme Open Air Museum and rock dug churches, Hot Air Ballooning (optional), Pasabagi, Avanos, & Sarihan Medieval Caravan Hotel.
Day 6 - Konya, Monastery of Mevlana, Ince M. Medieval School, Great shops, Egirdir Lake.
Day 7 - Egirdir, Laodicea, Hierapolis, Aphrodisias, & Sultanhisar.
Day 8 - Bodrum, Mausoleum, Underwater Archaeology Museum & Castle.
Day 9 - Rest Day - Bodrum
Day 10 - Bafa, Didyma, Miletus, Priene, & Kusadasi.
Day 11 - Ephesus, St. John, Sardis, & Thyatira.
Day 12 - Thyatira, Pergamon, Acropolis, & Troy.
Day 13 - Gallipoli battle fields, Kabatepe War Museum, Anzac Cove, Lone pine, Trenches, Chunuk Bair.
Day 14 - Blue Mosque, Hippodrome, Obelisks, St. Sophia, Basilica Cistern, St. Savior in Chora.
Day 15 - You can now choose to either continue with us to Athens & then onto cruise the Greek Islands or return home.
